9 Months!

This tiny lady is 9 months old!  3/4 of a year!  She is just the sweetest little thing and is super smiley.  She is pretty vocal, and likes to make random noises throughout the day.  She is a moving machine, and an official crawler.

We are so so so excited that in 2 days her helmet will be off!  Whoohoo!  That thing is starting to stink, and with the hot weather, she gets so sweaty.  So excited to get to see my sweet baby's face on a daily basis!  Her head is definitely improved.  The flat spot has now shrunk down to about 15% of what it was.  It is still there, and I think we have done all we can.  You can't even tell unless you are really looking for it, and her hair is wet.  Rebecca just finished her helmet, and the results were amazing!  Savannah won't have that type of transformation, as her problem was completely different.  Savannah's side flatness is the hardest to correct, or so we have been told.  The good news is that her ears are lined up, and her forehead is perfect!  We will never know if it was worth doing, but I am so glad we did.  I know I am a huge worrier, and if I had a flat headed 2 year old, I would have kicked myself, haha!

Here is are little love hamming it up!

Watching Otie bark at the neighbors. Shocking I know...haha.

Savannah had her 9 month check-up last week and is doing great!  She got a clean bill of health and here are her stats:

  • weight: 17 pounds 6 ounces (25-50%)
  • height: 28 inches (50-75%
  • head: 17.5 inches (75-90%)

Here we are at her appointment last week.

What else she has been up to:
  • 4 bottles a day, 3 solid meals a day
  • sleeps 11 hours a night, with 2 naps a day- dropped her 3rd nap
  • crawls and pulls up on everything.
  • crawls stairs
  • oodles of personality
  • a snuggler, if you say "Love mama", or "Love dada" she will lay her head on your shoulder and snuggle. I melt every time!
  • loves blowing raspberries
  • says mamama and dadadada
  • size 3 diapers and size 9 month clothing
  • Still no teeth, but I feel like this is her month for that
  • loves the water, including the swimming pool!

She tries to hang with the cool kids and keep up with them.  It is so cute!

Scrunch face.

Ok her hair is crazy.  It is long, and kind of wavy and is chameleon hair.  Sometimes it looks blond, sometimes brown, and sometimes kind of reddish.  Rett made a funny comparison, he said she looks like the baby from the movie Willow.  Haha!  I can see it.  Savannah on the right and Alora Dan on the left.  Too funny!  How appropriate, as this is one of her daddy's favorite movies.

We sure love our little Savannah and can't wait to have a helmet free version in less than 48 hours!  Bows here we come!

Congrats Nonnie!

Nonnie retired from teaching 2 weeks ago, and we were able to attend her retirement party.  Nonnie has been a teacher for over 20 plus years, and a teacher at Glen Oaks since it's opening 22 years ago.  Ironically, I was in 5th grade the opening year of the school, and little did I know that my future mother-in-law was just down the hall teaching kindergarten.  She finished up as a 1st grade teacher, and has definitely made a huge impact.  She was the most dedicated teacher, literally being the first one up there and the last to leave.  She also worked many weekends, and cared so much for all her students.  I have have had countless people in the community come up to me, and ask if I was related to her, as she is sort of famous as being THE teacher you want your kid to have.  We are all so proud of her, and happy that she is now going to get to enjoy the freedoms of retirement!

Coincidentally, the house we moved into a year and a half ago is zoned for Glen Oaks.  Luke will be entering in 1 short year, and obviously the girls will follow.  How special for them all to be at the school where their Nonnie taught for so many years.  They better be on good behavior, as I think people will recognize their names and will be able to report back to Nonnie.  Haha!

Here are pictures from her party.

Congrats Nonnie, we love you!

6 Month Photos

Ok, so Savannah may be turning 9 months next week, and these pictures may have been taken a week away from her turning 8 months, but at least I got it done!  I have taken "6 Month" pictures of all of our babies, and here are Savannah's.  Everyone keeps asking if she has red in her hair.  It is not obviously red, and I really don't see it, but I get the question so often that I am guessing she has red undertones in it.  Her hair is definitely lighter than the other two, so we will see what happens.  Love this little lady!

Here is all three of my babies in a similar pose at around the same age, plus some extras of Audrey and Luke at the end.  I love comparing them!

Schoooooolssss Out For Summmmmma!

The kids finished up their school year 2 weeks ago, and we have been having a great summer so far.  Luke just finished Pre-K and Audrey finished her first year in the 2 year old class.  They both had wonderful years, and learned so much.  I love their school, and am so pleased my children are able to go there.  We have decided to hold Luke back a year and start him in Kindergarten in 1 more year.  He is super smart, and did fantastic this past year.  I know he would do great in kindergarten if he went, but we just decided that with a late summer birthday, we wanted him to be able to be the oldest in his class vs. the youngest.  A little maturaty never hurt anyone!  HaHa!  We will also be doing this with Audrey, as her birthday is August 31st.  She makes the cut off by one day, and could technically start kindergarten when she is 4.  This is just the best choice for our family, and by doing this, it will keep all 3 kids 2 grades apart from each other.

Luke is super excited about next year though, because he will be in TK.  Our school has a whole class just for kids like Luke with summer birthdays who decide to wait to start kindergarten.  It is "Transitional Kindergarten".  This is awesome, because he won't have to repeat a year.   He is also very excited about being the oldest in the school!  Haha!

Here are our two monkeys on the last day.

And the first day.

They had lots of super fun activities at the end of the year.  Luke and Audrey were so excited about splash day!

Their end of the year parties were a ton of fun as well.

We love Ms. Kathy and Ms. Jaquie!

Audrey got to attend Luke's party, and he was just the sweetest big brother ever.  He included her in  everything.  Melt my heart....

Luke and his buddies. 3 of the 5 will be with him next year in TK.

We love Ms. Margaret and Ms. Kim.

Even though Luke won't be going to kindergarten next year, he still participated with his class in the graduation.  Too cute!

All the kids got a chance to say what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Luke is a big talker and told me that the teachers had to keep telling him that he could only say what it was, not explain things.  Haha!  So he said he wants to be a "Rescue Diver".  From what I have gathered, this is basically a coast guard diver.  Love our little man!

I can't believe another year has flown by.  Now it's time for summer fun!!!
