First Camping Trip

We went on our first family camping trip this past weekend.  We went to Isle of Dubois at Ray Roberts with 3 other families and had so much fun!  Brian and I had been camping prior to kids, but have never gone with our crew in tow.  We all had a blast!  We borrowed a tent, that may have been half as big as the other families, and we were packed in like sardines.  It made for one cozy night.  We were definitely warm enough all cozied together.

When we got there the girls "took a nap".

We set up our site, and just hung out.  The kids ran wild, and Luke pretty much was a crazy man the entire time.  There was a playground right by our site, and the kids ran back and forth.

We were right by the water, and one family brought their boat to test drive.  The kids climbed all over the rocks, skipped stones, and got dirty!

Please notice Savannah's stone in this picture.  Haha!  I don't think that one made it in the water. =)

Notice my knucklehead in this picture.  Oh Luke...

The rest of the night was spent hanging out, playing corn hole and more of the kids running free through the woods.

The kids were all pooped and in bed by 8. It was so fun having adult time by the fire.  One dad even brought "magic fire" so we had a rainbow of colors going.

What a special trip we will never forget.  We plan on many more camp outs, but will opt for a little bigger tent next time!

  1. So much fun! Nothing better than a family camping trip :) We've spent a lot of time camping at Ray Roberts, glad you guys enjoy it too! side note: Savannah is starting to look like your little twin! That picture of brian kissing her could be a picture of you when you were little!
