Savannah's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Savannah in more ways than one on Sunday.  Our families joined us at church to be a part of Savannah's baby dedication.  Brian and I dedicated her to the Lord, and committed to raising her to know her heavenly father.  Other babies were being dedicated as well, including our special cousin, Rebecca!  What a neat day it was!  The pastor said a special prayer over each baby, and prayed that Savannah would be like Deborah and show leadership in Christ.  We will continue to pray that for this precious child.

Here is our sweet girl before church, crazy hair and all!  She got to wear Tula's baptismal dress, which was so special.  Audrey and Rebecca have worn it as well.

Family of 5.

Savannah is a Daddy's girl for sure.  During the blessing she only wanted to be held by him.  :)

Had no idea Luke was being such a goofball before the service started!

We were on the front row, and Savannah loved looking back at everyone.

The kids always go to Sunday school, so they were in awe of "big church".  They loved the music.

Standing in front of the church.  Audrey was a bit of a wiggle worm!

Savannah's blessing.

After all the babies had been dedicated, the whole congregation was clapping, and Audrey walked to the front and took a huge bow.  It was hilarious!

So glad Uncle G could be a part of her special day.

Again, loving looking back at everyone.

We got home from church, and then had a party to celebrate Savannah's first birthday.

Two peas in a pod.

Savannah changed into her birthday outfit and everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Present time.  She had lots of helpers.

We then enjoyed lunch and cake.  Her party was an ode to her nicknames.  Due to her crazy hair since birth, Pop named her "Birdie".  The cake was also banana flavored, which is fitting since Luke and Audrey called her "Banana Cake" because they couldn't say "Savannah Kate" when she was born.  It was yummy!

If you notice, both mom and dad are holding her hands tight.  Didn't want a repeat of Audrey's first birthday finger burning incident. eek!

She dug in!

...and had some hat trouble.

Happy Birthday sweet Savannah!  We are so blessed to be your parents!
